The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Psalm 37:23

God’s Ordered Steps

Psalm 37:23 says, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.”  Do you believe this?  Does God really order the steps of a good man?  What is a good man anyway?  What is the right response to God’s ordered steps?  These are some questions that all of us should answer.  Christ says there is none good but God. [Mark 10:18]  So how then does a person become a “good man”?  Folks who are truly born again [saved] are made righteous by accepting what Christ did for them on the cross of Calvary.  2 Cor. 5:21 says “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  If you are righteous it is because you have been made righteous through accepting what the sinless savior, Jesus Christ, has done for you.  When God makes you righteous through His Son, He also takes ownership of your life [1 Cor. 6:19-20] and starts ordering your steps.  God’s plan is to use all of His children to bring glory to His name and to further His work.  Yes the Lord does order the steps of His children and The Lord delights when we willingly and eagerly take those steps that He has ordered.  The right response for believers is to eagerly and willingly take the steps that God has ordered for their lives, and I believe as you take those steps you will be like the psalmist who “delighteth in his way.”
