Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

Colossians 4:5

Redeeming the Time

“Redeeming the Time” is the theme we have chosen for 2009 here at GMBC.  Our scripture verse is Colossians 4:5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”  One of the best and wisest uses of our time is to “walk in wisdom toward them that are without. . .”  “Them that are without” refers to those who are not professing Christians.  To walk in wisdom is to conduct our daily lives in such a way that our lives and lips are consistent with the honesty, uprightness, and integrity that is expected from a true Christian.  It also means being dependent upon the Lord and praying for His wisdom as we interact with those who are in need of Christ.  We are not to force ourselves on people, but we should be watching and ready to walk through the doors of witnessing opportunities that our Lord divinely opens for us.  Most unbelievers judge Christianity by the lives of those who claim to be Christians.  We as true believers have a great opportunity and responsibility to “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”
