But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.

Numbers 14:24

A Legend

Young people today are often heard saying “he’s a legend”.  What they mean is that person has made an unforgettable mark for good on many people.  There was a man named Caleb in the Old Testament that was a “legend” and is still being talked about today.  His story is found in Numbers chapter 13 and 14, and also in Joshua 14:6-14.  The thing that made Caleb “a legend” was that his mindset was firmly on God’s promises instead of the problems that would be encountered in claiming those promises.  We do not live in a trouble free society and neither did Caleb.  More often than not, we base our decisions on what we can do rather than what God can do.  Living by faith, which is what God wants us to do, will definitely take us out of our comfort zone, but should we not be willing to step out of our comfort zone, become dependant upon God, and let Him show Himself strong through our lives?  Numbers 14:24 says, “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.”  I am convinced that God wants to do more in and through our lives than we can imagine, but in order for Him to do it, we must be willing to firmly set our minds on what God can do, not what we can do.  We need some ‘Caleb’s’ today!!!  Will you be a Caleb and let God get glory through your life by keeping your mind and heart stayed upon what He can do?
