Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.

William Carey

Witness God’s Great Work

We have just finished our 5th annual Missions Conference with bountiful blessings, and we are embarking on a building program that will enable us to “Build to Abound” in every good work.  I have been thinking recently about the miracle of Christ when He fed the 5000 men plus women and children that is described in Matthew 14:15-21.  Christ’s disciples wanted to send the multitude away for food, but Christ wanted them to feed them there.  All they had were 5 loaves and 2 fishes.  Christ took what was available and proceeded to thank God for it.  He then distributed the food to the disciples and who in turn distributed it to the multitude.  Everyone was fed and when all was finished, 12 baskets were left over.  Wouldn’t you have loved to have been there and witnessed this great miracle?   I believe Christ is still able to do miracles, and I am looking forward to seeing a similar miracle here at GMBC.  In our own strength we are like the disciples with meager resources and often little faith, but Christ can take the little that we have and multiply it greatly.  It will be thrilling to watch our Lord help us build a building that will bring honor and glory to Himself, plus allow us the means of feeding more of the multitude with His precious truths.  I hope each of you will get up close and involved so that you too can witness God’s great work in and through His people.  William Carey, a great missionary, made this statement; “Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God.”  This is what we want to do here at GMBC.
