And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

2 Corinthians 9:8

Jim Nance Testimony

I was born physically on August 2, 1917, and I was born spiritually on June 29, 1950.  The later date was the most important day of my life.  It was on that day that I heard a message from John 3 about Nicodemus who was a religious man but was not saved.  Jesus Christ made it clear to Nicodemus and to me as well that day that entrance into God’s family came from being born again.  Until then, I thought entrance into God’s family was something that you joined.  I had joined the Baptist church when I was a teenager because many others were joining and I thought it was the respectable thing to do.  I was baptized and made a full member of the church but I had never heard the gospel as explained in the Bible and no one ever told me that I needed to be born again.  I did not become a true born again Christian until I was in my mid 30’s and realized from God’s Word that I was a sinner like Nicodemus was, and that Jesus Christ had come to this earth, died on the old rugged cross, and rose again for my sins.  It was then; on June 29, 1950 that I went forward at the invitation repented of my sin, and received Jesus Christ as my Saviour.  I realized through God’s Word and His Spirit that salvation was a gift to be received.  I will be eternally thankful for all that God has done for me in making me one of His children.  I was one of 26 original charter members of GMBC (originally named Robertson Baptist Church), and it has been a joy to serve the Lord these past 50 years at Grace Memorial Baptist Church.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  Psalms 121:1-2
