And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

2 Corinthians 9:8

Jeanette Overstreet Testimony

I was raised in a Christian home with 10 sisters and one brother.  My mother was a godly woman, and my grandmother was too.  They both had a great influence on my life.  When I was 12 years old, I realized that I was a lost sinner and needed to be saved.  On December 10, 1950 I asked Christ to be my Saviour and He did what I asked Him to do and has lived in my heart ever since.  My life really changed and I have been blessed in many ways since I accepted Christ as my Saviour.  Yes, II Corinthians 5:17 is so true when it says, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

I can say that even though I have failed Him at times throughout the years that He has never failed me.  I joined GMBC in 1960 and raised all of my 6 children here.  All of my children accepted Christ as their saviour through the ministry of GMBC.  My oldest son surrendered to preach at GMBC and is Pastoring now in northern Virginia.  All of my children have been a wonderful blessing to me.  They all are so helpful.

I am going through chemo therapy treatments now for cancer, and as I have trusted God all these years, I trust Him to do what He sees best in this situation as well.  My desire is to be a good testimony with whatever may lie ahead for me.  Psalms 33:20-21 has been special to me, and it says, Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  Psalms 121:1-2
