And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

2 Corinthians 9:8

The brevity and uncertainty of life

2001 will be a year we will never forget.  My husband’s 42 year old sister died suddenly in her sleep on March 20, and we were reminded of the brevity and uncertainty of life.  On September 11, the world watched in horror as we were again forced to face the reality that it is “appointed unto men once to die”, and we don’t know how or when.  Then our oldest son, Dustin, had a wreck in NC the day BJU let out for Christmas break.  He dozed off and hit the concrete rail of a bridge, flipped over the side, rolled down to the bottom of the hill and landed in the road below the bridge.  The Suzuki was demolished except for the area where Dustin was sitting.  God clearly preserved his life, and we are so thankful, but were reminded again of James 4:14Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  As we start this New Year, let’s be determined to serve God with all our might, and enjoy every day that God allows us to live.

2021 Theme Verse

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.  Psalms 121:1-2
