When you make the choice to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, then your service to Him and to others will flow from a heart that is overflowing with love for Him, rather than a heart that is worried and bothered by what other people choose to do or not to do.

The Best Choice

In Luke 10:38-42, Jesus had come into the village where Martha lived and was warmly welcomed into her home.  Martha was no doubt thrilled to have Jesus in her home and she immediately became preoccupied with making preparations to serve Him.  Mary, Martha’s sister chose to sit at Jesus feet and learn from Him rather than help Martha in the Kitchen.  Mary’s choice caused Martha to become frustrated.  Martha became upset to the point that she started ordering Jesus around.  She said, “Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.”  The Lord’s response to Martha was, “Martha, Martha, thou art careful [worried] and troubled [bothered] about many things: 42 But one thing is needful [necessary]: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.  Mary had chosen the one thing that is necessary in every one of our lives—to sit at Jesus’ feet and learn of Him.  Have you made that choice or are you too busy with other things?  When you make the choice to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, then your service to Him and to others will flow from a heart that is overflowing with love for Him, rather than a heart that is worried and bothered by what other people choose to do or not to do.
