A little faith, obedience and patience will go a long way when God is involved with your life.

Victorious Against All Odds

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the task ahead of you?  Don’t you think Joshua and the Israelites felt overwhelmed with their first task after coming into the promise Land, that being to conquer the formidable city of Jericho?  The city of Jericho had two walls that encircled the city.  The outer wall was 6 feet wide and 30 feet high and the inner wall was 12 feet wide and 30 feet high.  The two walls were 12-15 feet apart.  God’s plan for victory called for faith, obedience, and patience.  God told them to march one time per day for 6 days and then on the seventh day, they were supposed to march 7 times around the city and on their seventh time around they were to shout as the priest blew their trumpets. [Joshua 6]  They exhibited enough faith to believe that God would give them victory, enough obedience to do what God said to do even though it seemed an odd way to conquer a city and enough patience to follow all the instructions and stay the course till the end.  God could have knocked down the walls on the first day, but He chose to do it after 7 days.  A little faith, obedience and patience will go a long way when God is involved with your life.  Keep your eyes focused on what God can do and not what you can or cannot do.
