Do not push it away lest you lose its work

The following quote was presented to us by the professor in my BJU Seminary class in January: “The present circumstance which presses so hard against you, if surrendered to Christ, is God’s best shaped tool to chisel you for eternity.  Do not push it away lest you lose its work.”

Our first human reaction to hard circumstances is to push them away or get out from under their pressure.  Many of you have been under some difficult pressures in the past weeks and months.  Let me encourage you to be surrendered to God and let Him chisel on you. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” [Phil. 2:13, 1:6] Let God mold you and make you into an effective and useful servant.
