Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

A Prayer for the New Year

Dear God, as we begin a new year, may we strive to seek and do what you would have us do. May we enjoy every day that you allow us to live, and make it count for eternity, for it says in your Word, “…what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”  May we be joyful, kind, helpful, generous, patient, and loving to those around us, especially to those of our own household. Help us, dear Lord, never to take our friends and loved ones for granted.

Thank you for loving us so much. Help us to love and trust you more. No matter what. Thank you for the comfort and instruction of your Word which says in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
